Early 20th century violin, possibly German. This violin bears a facsimile label, “Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 17”, and another label “Repaired by Alex G. Edelblut Feby 1955”. This violin has a spruce top and 2-piece maple back. The tone can be described as warm, broad, sweet, and projecting. It has an excellent tone, especially for its price range. There was a major repair done near the f-hole at some point, which causes us to offer this violin for a lower price. The violin itself is structurally sound. Would be suitable for fiddle or orchestral music.
